I have an UPS. It should power a TV and 2600 for at least 15-30 minutes.

If I can untangle my VCR from the web of wires(15 consoles and a DVR on one TV) I'll bring it along with my NES. The hardest part about recording for T&F is that I need a dual recording. One of them must show my hands AND the game screen. So the set-up can be a little tricky if I want to be half way comfortable(takes 3+hours) AND have the right recording angle AND have good enough lighting on my hands.

I have everything I need. It's just a matter of getting a little practice in the next 2 weeks and pulling the VCR from where it is.

Well, that and seeing if I can play while chugging a 32oz JagerBomb. My drink of choice. Or a Big Comfort(Big Red soda & Southern Comfort 50/50)

I think I'll go practice the drinking and playing thing right now. :D

Hands *AND* the game screen? Why not split off the video signal and put it through a small monitor so you can tape it from the side?

I have a portable DVD player that also functions as an 8" monitor. Set that up on your left and videotape from the right. You can look at the full-size monitor directly in front of you and not have to worry about being at a good angle for the camera.

Will that suffice? You also need a recording of the gameplay separate from this?

It is at this point that feel compelled to remind all our gamers that Eating and drinking are not allowed past the 'steps' of the upper part of the backyard. We've been having problems with that for the last meet or two.

Its about keeping the games and systems clean, and trash control. Wet blanket mode off.

Would an I.V. be appropriate? Or enema perhaps? :D

Booooo! And my wife says MY super hero name is Captain Bring Down! And my cape is a wet blanket. But this takes the cake. I guess the record attempt is off. There are no breaks on this game. It's very physical and I sweat alot while playing. I usually chug at least a 2 liter of soda while playing. 3 hours with no break is hard enough. No drink? Forget about it.

Nah, I'm just kidding. I understand. But this will make things a bit more interesting. I can do a round of the game in about 7 minutes. If I qualify on the first attempt on Archery I will have attempt #2 and #3 to get some liquids. If I dont do it on one round then I only have to wait another 7 minutes for another chance at a refreshment break. So it's doable. On the plus side, it will make me focus better on my worst event. It's my worst because it's boring.

Also, I am guilty of having a drink in the game area. I apologised to Steve about it at a later date. There were so many people at the event that I didnt even see the signs until hours after the occurrence. I dont want to be the idiot that ruins a system or machine because I had to have my drink.

BTW, I did one practice game last night and played an hour and 15 minutes before I quit. That should be all the practice I need. I still got it!

If the camera has the screen and scores in focus then one is all I'll need. But it's hard to get the screen close enough to get the details they need AND have the hands on screen at the same time. So I use the VCR to record the game play and have the cam on my hands with the screen in the background. They will see enough of the screen to know it's the same game that is on the tape as long as I zoom in every now and then to show some of the scores.

Thanks for the offer but I have what's needed.

Meh, in this case we can make an exception to the drink rule - he won't be leaving the table. There's nothing else at the table except for possibly another record-breaker. We'll need to run this by Steve to confirm.

How about restroom breaks? Unzip and let fly under the table? Milk jug?

I'm starting to have too much fun with this.
